Using the footprint of a 1940's rambler as the basis for a practically new home, we were able to create a design that responds to the desires of a post 2000 family while staying in character with the scale of the neighborhood. A front open porch, to encourage interaction between neighbors and a rear screen porch to encourage interaction with nature were two of the more important features of this design. The unseen features include a highly efficient heating system coupled with full spray foam insulation and high performance windows to minimize air leakage. We believe the quality of a home should be more than skin deep.
